Five-star wide receiving prospect Preston Williams committed to the University of Tennessee back in September. If you know anything about college football recruiting, then you understand commitments that early on mean virtually nothing. It’s the equivalent of a girl in college telling every guy who approaches her at the bar that she has a boyfriend. It’s simply not going to deter others from leaving her alone.

Enter Auburn.

Much to the chagrin of the folks in Rocky Top, Williams decided to take a last-minute trip this past weekend to check out what War Eagle is all about — or so they thought.

From Rocky Top Insider:

Finally, we reported last week that wide receiver commit Preston Williams had planned to visit Auburn over the weekend. Well, Williams did end up making the trip, but ended up leaving the visit a day early. The rumors out of Auburn were that Williams was “being a distraction” and “disrupting the weekend,” but we are hearing that Williams was actually asked to leave by Auburn staff members because he showed up wearing nothing but Tennessee apparel and was actively recruiting other visitors to join him at Tennessee. Not exactly prototypical guest behavior for an official visitor, but that news isn’t likely to upset Vol fans too much.

Not only is Williams true to his word and loyal to Tennessee, but he goes the extra mile to troll an SEC rival, and he even attempts to sway other recruits to Knoxville on Auburn’s dime.

Preston doesn’t hide what he’s doing for one second. He could have gone with a stealthier strategy, faking the slightest bit of interest in Auburn, but no, he went the in-your-face, shit-stirring route. He was such an obnoxious asshole that Auburn essentially told him to fuck off and ended his visit early.

Just imagine what was going through Gus Malzahn’s mind when this dude showed up to campus rocking nothing but Volunteer gear. How was the kid not immediately sent back to the airport, or, at the very least, clotheslined by Will Muschamp and forced into an Auburn hat? The fact that he made it to Saturday night is an accomplishment in itself.

Just another day in the SEC, I suppose.
