A war veteran. A gun. A bald eagle. 4th of July weekend. This story is so over-the-top America it’s hard to believe.
A U.S. Army veteran saved a bald eagle last Thursday by sharpshooting the branch it was stuck on over 150 times with a .22 caliber rifle.
After Jason Galvin, who served two tours in Afghanistan, saw the majestic raptor trapped on a tree branch 70 feet off the ground, he made the call to shoot a hole through the branch. It took an hour and a half, but eventually the eagle was rescued.
Because the daring rescue happened so close to the 4th, Galvin gave the eagle the only name appropriate for the situation: “Freedom.”
Freedom is currently under veterinary care and is doing well in her recovery.
The only way this story could be more MURRICA was if Galvin shot the eagle free while chugging a watered-down beer, then motorboated a pair of tits covered in a tiny American flag bikini as the eagle fell safely into a fresh apple pie. Great work..
