Steve, the soon-to-be married man pictured above holding an 18 of Silver Bullets like a freshman carrying $900 worth of textbooks out of a college bookstore, recently returned from his bachelor party in Vegas. Steve had a good time, because Steve has some great friends.
Steve’s friends pulled off a prank so elaborate, hilarious, and expensive that it’s a no-doubt first ballot Hall of Fame inductee. His 13 friends that accompanied him on the trip split the cost of 24 hours of ad time on a digital billboard just off the Las Vegas strip. At around midnight last Friday, the group decided to walk from the strip to the Rio, an idea that Steve thought was insane at the time (it’s a bit of a walk), but the guys greased his wheels with one of those obnoxious, sugary, 100 oz. margs that you hang around your neck and gives you the worst hangover imaginable the next day. The plan was set in motion.
They eventually came upon the billboard near the Rio hotel, which is seen below.
It’s an ad for genital wart cream next to a giant picture of Steve DiMatteo’s smiling face. There’s even a hashtag. Let’s see Steve’s reaction.
Steve’s boys wouldn’t tell him what they paid to rent space on the billboard for 24 hours, but landing ad space that big just off one of the busiest, most populated, most highly foot-trafficked stretches of road in the world didn’t come cheap.
The best part? His boys created a website for Uncle Steve’s Rub-It-Out genital wart cream. It’s real, it’s operational, and it’s fantastic. Really sharp looking, too. The website had 30,000 hits yesterday after Steve’s story was shared on Reddit.
