Barack Obama is halfway through the back-nine of his presidential career, and right now, he’s shooting a 96, it’s starting to rain, his hands are covered in blisters, and he’s ready to get back to the clubhouse for a delicious veggie burger and a glass of white wine.

One benefit of being the president in your second term, particularly in the second half of your second term, is that you don’t really need to filter your statements. You have to remain presidential, but you no longer have to pander to the ungrateful fucks who have harassed you for the last six years. If they come at you with guns blazing, fire back. Who cares? It’s not like you’re actually going to get impeached.

Basketball great and pompous gambling degenerate Michael Jordan took a shot at Obama a week ago, saying in an interview with Ahmad Rashad that he wouldn’t include the president in his hypothetical dream golf foursome:

“I never played with Obama, but I would. But nah, that’s okay. I take him out. He’s a hack. It’d be all day playing with him…I’m just saying he’s a shitty golfer.”

Maybe first-term Obama would’ve kept his mouth shut when the second-greatest basketball player of all time fired a shot like this, but not second-term Obama. Second-term Obama fired back–basically conceding that Jordan was a better golfer but he should probably mind his own damn business.

From CBS Sports:

Michael wasn’t very well informed about this. I think he might’ve just been trying to give Ahmad a ratings boost…but there is no doubt that Michael is a better golfer than I am. Of course, if I was playing twice a day for the last 15 years, then that might not be the case. He might want to spend more time thinking about the Bobcats—or the Hornets.

Here is what I imagine third-term Obama would’ve said:

“Yeah, Michael is a better golfer than I am. I’m probably a better gambler than he is. He could drink me under the table, though–of course, if I was drinking twice a day for the last 15 years, that might not be the case.”

And fourth-term Obama:

“Fuck Michael Jordan. At least I made my high school’s basketball team.”

The president does not want to be bothered by this garbage. Not right now. The Democrats just lost control of the Senate last night, and the Republicans now have full control of Congress. Any initiative Obama was planning on pushing through Capitol Hill before leaving the White House will now face a massive brick wall.

For what it’s worth, Obama isn’t that great of a basketball player, either.
