Eastern Washington Beta Theta Pi Serenade And Pin The Mother Of Deceased Brother

Screen Shot 2016-05-11 at 4.46.09 PM

Tragedy struck the Beta Theta Pi chapter at Eastern Washington University this past fall when one of their members, Corey Lee, died in his dorm room in what police are investigating as a controlled substance homicide. The death of a brother certainly has a profound impact on the fraternity, but that doesn’t begin to compare to the heartache felt by his family — especially his mother.

This past weekend — the night before Mother’s Day — the fraternity and family shared a special moment at spring formal to commemorate the kid they grew to love.

Brothers serenaded Corey’s mother with a rendition of “My Beta Sweetheart” and presented her with Corey’s member pin on a necklace.

Tears? Uhhh…no. Something just flew into my eyes the exact moment I started watching this.
