For four years, Von Miller terrorized Big 12 offenses. The 2010 consensus All-American and Dick Butkus award winner racked up 33 sacks during his four years, 27.5 of them in his last two seasons. He was a standout recruit in high school and many schools were after him. In the end, it came down to A&M, LSU, and Florida.
A&M was the one who showed him the most love, but Miller had an interesting way to describe them.
From Sports Illustrated:
A&M really wanted me,” Miller says. “You know that girlfriend that’s really not that attractive but she’s going to do everything she can to keep you? That was A&M. . . . That hot chick that just talks to you on Mondays? That was LSU.”
I love it. Even Super Bowl MVP and former Aggie great Von Miller doesn’t think too highly of A&M. Sure, it’s where he spent four years of his life, but had any other school shown him a little more love, he would have committed elsewhere. A&M was his backup plan — the Plan C. I bet LSU and Les Miles are kicking themselves for not putting in a little more effort, but at least they can take solace in knowing they are prettier than A&M.
A&M is the slump buster. The old reliable. But as soon as greener pastures start giving you attention, you ditch the uggo and head straight for the dime..
