Nice Move

Six months ago, Howard Dixon sadly discovered that some of the friends he had served during his long tenure as OU SAE’s cook were racist. As a result of the actions of a few, Dixon was left without a job due to the fraternity’s removal from campus. After the incident, former members of the fraternity started an Indiegogo campaign to ensure that Howard landed on his feet. The campaign raised over $63,000 thanks to the help from all of you guys across the nation.

Now, Dixon has moved on and found a new home on OU’s campus, this time with the gentlemen of Kappa Sigma.

From KOCO:

Over the summer, members of the Kappa Sigma fraternity on campus reached out to Dixon to employ him in their kitchen and Dixon said yes.

Dixon himself has had a great time working with the men of Kappa Sig, saying that he’s “enjoying every minute of it.” Kappa Sig’s president has said that having Dixon around is awesome since Dixon is not just a cook who is there to serve food, but also considers himself a people person. He gets to know each and every one of the brothers. He’s a friend first, and a cook second from what it sounds like.

As far as the SAE incident goes, Dixon had this to say about it:

“Accidents happen,” Dixon said. “It was an unfortunate accident and fortunately the good Lord gave me another spot.”

A real class act here. Dixon even made sure to bring on another kitchen staff member at SAE with him to Kappa Sig. Just a real good story. And from what I hear, Kappa Sig got themselves a damn good cook and an even better person.
