Your go-to handgun

What is your everyday carry?

I just got my CCW and am looking to upgrade from the P22 to something with more stopping power.

It must cost less than $750 and have an accessory rail. What do y’all recommend?

I’m assuming you want the rail because it’s all you have for home defense? Never seen anyone conceal with a tac light on.

    Ruger sr9c
    Smith and wesson m&p9 compact
    Springfield xdm 3.8 compact 9mm

Lately I’ve shot the new XD-S at the range, it’s a great carry weapon if you can handle lots of recoil well (45ACP).

Walther P99 is a good option. With a magazine extender, the grip is about the same as the P22 and it still fits easily in your pocket.
Glock also has a new G30X .45 that’s thinner and easier to conceal than some of the other conceal Glocks.

Beretta 92fs or 82fs for a smaller model thats easier to carry. They might be a little more than 750 but its worth the extra cheddar.

^ I’d personally go with a Glock or another polymer gun. I have a 92fs but it’s just too impractical as a CCW. Not sure about the 82fs, but I really like the weight of a smaller Glock.

Waltheer PPQ is hands down the best pistol I’ve ever owned or shot, and I’ve tried a lot of them. Keltec PF-9 or PF-11 for a burner to keep in the vehicle. It’s cheap so if it gets stolen who gives a fuck.

The Walther PPQ is a fantastic pistol, but it is not a good conceal weapon, the majority of the suggested guns are too big for concealing (Beretta 92FS, Walther PPQ, S&W Sigma). I completely agree with the Keltec options, and if you want one with higher quality but the same pocket-carry size, I’d suggest a Kahr PM in 9mm, .40, or .45.
