It just wouldn’t be a proper offseason in Baton Rouge without a few arrests to stir up the Mad Hatter’s pot. Four LSU football players, including projected starting quarterback Anthony Jennings, have been placed on indefinite suspension after their arrests Thursday.

From The Advocate:

The arrests of Jennings, Thomas and Bain stem from an event Friday, June 12. The three players and at least three more males entered a West Campus Apartment and broke into a bedroom, removing items from the room, a police report says. They did so with the presumed intent to retrieve items said to have been stolen from Jennings’ apartment on June 10 — a MacBook Air, three pairs of shoes and a PlayStation 4.

Jennings filed a police report on June 10 for the stolen items. Before last week’s incident, Jennings told police Bain had retrieved the laptop from Nicholas Anderson, who bought it from a person nicknamed “Doodaman,” the report says.

Lealaimatafao’s arrest stems from a fight in the early morning hours Tuesday at Reggie’s bar in Baton Rouge. The redshirt freshman from Texas dug through the pockets of an unnamed male who had been beaten unconscious by “unknown suspects” in the parking lot of Reggie’s, police records show. Lealaimatafao then punched the victim’s girlfriend in the face with a closed fist when she interfered, and then continued to dig through the male victim’s pockets, police records show.

Quite the doozy, Patrick. Can’t knock Jennings, though. It’s not exactly high on the police’s priority list to recover your laptop, some kicks, and your gaming system. There are more pressing issues for them on campus, like busting kids for underage drinking and putting a stop to the atrocity that is jay-walking. Plus, this Nicholas Anderson sounds like a punk. Buying anything from a guy that goes by “Doodaman” should be an immediate red flag. Kid knew full well he was buying some ill-gotten goods. I’m giving the players a pass on this one as they were simply taking what was theirs. Sure, they might have taken the liberty of adding a few more additions to what exactly was theirs, but I chalk that up as an expense for their time.

This Lealaimatafao, on the other hand, is a complete piece of work. Dude’s been at LSU for a year and this is his third off-the-field incident and second arrest. Punching a girl in the face might just be enough to get this scumbag kicked off the team altogether. Then again, this is the SEC. If Les thinks this fucker can help win in Tuscaloosa or Oxford, morals go out the window.
