Police in Redwood City, California have apprehended three people who stole a $2.8 million dollar yacht, and had a little shindig onboard the stolen vessel before running aground just off the coast of Linda Mar Beach in San Mateo County, California. Police are holding the three suspects, two locals and a man from Wyoming, on suspicion of boat theft. Bail has been set at $1.01 million dollars. Prosecutors are still deciding on whether or not to file charges.
The multi-million dollar yacht was stranded on a sandbar for nearly 12 hours while the coast guard and local police tried to make contact with the boat jackers. The suspects finally gave themselves up around noon on Monday. Upon entering the boat, police found empty beer bottles and pizza boxes. It is not known the extent of the damage to the boat, but I can guarantee that these morons did quite a number on this one percenter’s poor yacht.
The human race never ceases to amaze me. Too poor to own your own three million dollar yacht? Who cares? Just break into a marina and steal someone’s. I gotta hand it to these folks, though — they went first class all the way with their yacht party. Beer and pizza? That’s probably the sorriest menu that ship’s ever seen. The usual soirées on that boat are probably champagne and caviar parties. Good on these goons for giving that boat a little seasoning with a good old-fashioned beer and pizza party. Police have not confirmed the brand of pizza or beer, but my educated guess is that these fine folks went with Milwaukee’s Best and Domino’s, because there’s no other choice besides name-brand when you’re throwing your first stolen yacht party.
