Sometimes you just can’t live a story down. No matter how hard you try, or how successful you are, your name will always be associated with an ill-fated transgression.

For Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston, the moral lapse that resonates with most college football fans is the time he unnecessarily stole crab legs from a Publix supermarket. One would think that after winning a national title and the Heisman trophy, all you’d have to do is ask if you were a little short on cash, especially in the town you play in. But as we all know, Jameis likely didn’t think of that.

No matter how many games or national championships he wins, how many touchdowns he passes or rushes for, or how many other stupid things he does, there’s no doubt the seafood story will always take the (crab)cake when Jameis is the topic of conversation. There will forever be jokes to be had, and College Gameday signs to be made, wholly at the expense of Winston’s unquenchable affinity for crab legs.

Case in point, this tweet from last night:

I can’t even make it funnier than it already is, no matter how I try to spin it.

Whether that truly is an FSU team official by his side or not, who knows? It doesn’t matter, though, because the execution here is hilarious. The fact that Jameis is staring right into the guy’s cell phone camera, likely knowing he was about to become the butt of a joke, only makes it ten times better.

But did he know that it would be retweeted over 1,000 times? Probably not, but it only speaks to how much “people don’t forget!” That was a Superbad reference.

Obviously not wanting to cause any Twitter beef, and seemingly an FSU student himself according to his bio, the tweeter at hand offered his condolences to Jameis an hour or so after the picture started taking off and making the rounds.

You did have to do it, @DreadedUp_Ross. Twitter loves it, and so do I. Thanks for the laugh, bruh.
