JCPenny Promoting New “Hitler” Tea Kettle

The above photo was taken of a billboard in the Los Angeles area. Motorists have taken notice.

The Michael Graves Design Bells and Whistles Stainless Steel Tea Kettle from JCPenny features a delightful whistle, a cool-touch handle and a capacity of two quarts…and of course its striking resemblance to the world’s most notorious genocidal madman, Adolf Hitler. Complete with Hitler ‘stache, the Hitler combover, and the “Sieg Heil!” spout, this stainless steel beacon of the Holocaust can be yours for only $40.

Poor form or genius marketing? Maybe both? Hey, we’re talking about it, aren’t we? And as long as JCPenny and designer Michael Graves claim the obvious resemblance is unintentional (it’s not), they’re in the clear.
