Nice Move

The LSU-Florida matchup is reaching unprecedented levels of petty.

LSU hosts the Gators this week in Baton Rouge in what is no doubt a huge SEC game. If you remember, the two schools were supposed to play each other more than a month ago. However, Hurricane Matthew forced Florida to cancel the game at the last minute when various men, women and children were spotted blowing down local streets like tumbleweeds.

LSU had little to no sympathy for Florida, forcing the Gators to lose their home game and travel to Baton Rouge this week. Both schools had to buy out the non-conference opponents they were supposed to play this week (Florida-Presbyterian, LSU-South Alabama) to make it happen. Now, the Tigers seem to be twisting the knife.

No respect, no respect at all! You’re probably thinking, “Well, they clearly printed those media passes out at the beginning of the season and it’d be too expensive to reprint them now,” am I right? The LSU football program is worth $111 million according to Forbes. I’m sure they could find the money for reprints if they wanted to.

But don’t worry, that doesn’t appear to be the only petty move leading up to this now heated matchup.

Via The Advocate:

LSU allotted 4,500 tickets to Florida, about 2,000 less than the school normally allots to visiting fans.

“That’s all they wanted,” [said Brian Broussard, in charge of ticket sales and operations at LSU]. “We could have done more. If they really wanted (the normal amount SEC teams receive), we would have been struggling.”

About 100 Florida fans will be located in the north end zone, under the scoreboard and near the LSU student section.”

They had extra space for the UF fans and LSU still threw a hundred of them next to their horde of drunken, Tiger-baiting students who’ll have spent countless hours getting angry gameday drunk on the Parade Grounds? At this point I wouldn’t be shocked if the only bathroom Florida fans are allowed to use in Tiger Stadium is an overflowing, half-melted port-a-potty a blacked out LSU fan had lit on fire the week before.

Good luck in Baton Rouge, Gator fans.
