VIDEO- Washington Sports Anchor Chugs Drink, Tells Kids Dreams Aren't Real After Caps Loss

On Tuesday night, the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Washington Capitals 4-3 in overtime to eliminate the Caps from the NHL Playoffs. It was an absolutely brutal loss if you’re a caps fan. For me, it was a rollercoaster of emotions, as I watched my Pens take a 3-0 lead, incur stupid penalties, lose the lead, and then win in overtime.

While I spent the night celebrating, folks in Washington spent the night drinking away their sorrows. This included Michael Jenkins, CSN Mid-Atlantic’s sports anchor, who poured himself a tall glass for their show and gave kids a hard dose of reality.

“You like to drink? I like to drink, and I’m going to drink the whole show.”

Jenkins isn’t the hero we deserve, but he’s the hero we need.
