New Footage Of Toomer’s Fire In Auburn Shows Heroic Student Chasing Down Suspect

Nice Move

New surveillance footage shows a woman chasing after the man who allegedly used a lighter to ignite the toilet paper draped from one of the oak trees at Toomer’s Corner in Auburn City after Auburn defeated LSU early Sunday morning.

The oaks are a cherished university landmark for Auburn fans, and rolling them with TP is a tradition when the team wins. The tree sustained “significant damage” from the fire. The tradition had just been resumed this year with newly-planted trees after Bama die-hard Harvey Updyke poisoned the last oaks in 2010.

Auburn resident and human mole rat Jochen Weist, 29, has been charged with starting the blaze.

The hero who chased down the suspect was Auburn student Herron Taylor, who went after Weist when her boyfriend pointed out that he had just lit the fire.

“He was trying to get away and I was like ‘No, no – not today,” Taylor said. “We just got our trees back.”

Not today, bitch. NOT TODAY. Love that.

Stop the presses. She’s hot as fuck, too.

Lovin every minute of it 😋

The alleged arsonist is apparently not affiliated with Auburn or LSU in any way, which just goes to show that inbred townies always ruin things for the college students.

Here’s a health to both tree and tradition. May they never die.
