There isn’t much argument over beer in the fraternity house. Is it cheap? Will it become a major contributor towards tomorrow morning’s regrets? If the answer is “yes” to all of the above, it is an acceptable product. There are no guns drawn, no old fucks arguing in the parking lot. It’s civil and straight-forward.
Two New Orleans men somehow turned their affinity of certain beers into a shooting earlier this week. The argument over beer preference began when Clarence Sturdivant asked his buddy and neighbor Walter Merrick for a beer. The two were having a friendly conversation in the parking lot of their apartment complex, nothing out of the ordinary for the two men who had been friends for years.
Merrick returned with the beer Sturdivant requested, and shit commenced to hit the fan. Merrick brought back a Busch, which was unacceptable to Sturdivant — a self-proclaimed Budweiser man.
The two men continued to quarrel over beer brands until Merrick said Sturdivant shot him and left, the incident report said. Deputies pulled Sturdivant over a short time later in the 1500 block of Estalot Street in Harvey, and found 20-gauge shotgun cartridges in his truck, the report said. They also found a spent 20-gauge shotgun cartridge at the scene of the shooting.
Merrick was issued a citation for aggravated assault while Sturdivant was arrested on outstanding warrants.
So, let’s settle this argument, TFM. Which beer is better?.
