Pablo Sandoval Benched For InstaFlirting During Red Sox Game

Baseball players are notoriously superstitious. If getting a semi chub in the Atlanta Braves bathroom is what keeps your bat on fire, then keep doing you.

The Boston Red Sox disagree. Third baseman Pablo Sandoval was benched Thursday for liking a few women’s pictures on Instagram during Wednesday’s game.

A game in which Sandoval went 2-4 while the rest of Boston’s piss-poor excuse of an offense sat in the corner tugging Wally the Green Monster off.

This is the chick Sandoval was crushing on while chillin in the bathroom.

Clearly, the new Boston addition is just trying to make friends since joining the team on a five-year, $95 million contract in the offseason.

Players have done much worse things to get their bats going. Jason Giambi had a gold thong he wore every time he needed to bust out of a slump. Mark McGwire wore the same protective cup from high school throughout his major league career. Moises Alou pissed on his hands.

And yet the Red Sox are benching Sandoval for flirting on Instagram during the game? Time for extra BP, Pablo. Chicks dig the long ball.
