Nice Move

We’re going to play a little game here; it should be fun. I’m going to post the report from ABC’s San Diego affiliate, then I’m going to translate the text to reflect how I believe it went down, because during pledge season, actives don’t end up in handcuffs for stealing bed sheets from hotels.

The report:

Members from a San Diego State University fraternity ended up in handcuffs after stealing bed sheets from a local hotel as part of prank.

The students told police that they needed the sheets for a toga party they were throwing.

“They came in asking for sheets for a fundraiser to give to the homeless,” said Jennifer Villa, the desk worker at the Best Western Seven Seas in Mission Valley.

Villa said 15 minutes later one of her coworkers got a call from housekeeping to call the police.

The housekeepers caught two students from the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house in the hotel laundry room and locked them inside.

“They were scared,” said Villa. “They were just saying sorry to the housekeepers because they stole the sheets.”

Detectives handcuffed both students but never arrested anyone. No one from the hotel pressed charges.

10News tried contacting members from the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity but were told no comment. One fraternity member did say that the toga party was canceled.

My version:

“Pledges from a San Diego State University fraternity ended up in handcuffs after stealing bed sheets from a local hotel as part of prank. The pledges fucked up by telling police that they needed the sheets for a toga party they were attending.

The housekeepers caught the two slapdick pledges from the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity house in the hotel laundry room and locked them inside. This is when it really started to set in that they were, in fact, fucked — by law enforcement, but more importantly, by the active members of their chapter.

“The pledges were scared,” said Villa. “They were just saying how totally and completely fucked they were to the housekeepers because they stole the sheets and got caught.” Detectives handcuffed both pledges but never arrested anyone after the pledges convinced the police officers that they were real life pledges and were stealing the bed sheets as a pledge task. The cops were cool as hell. They had been there before and understood the tribulations of the pledge lifestyle.

10News tried contacting members from the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity but were told no comment. One fraternity member did say that the toga party was canceled. And also that the pledges were so fucked for getting caught.”
