Riding a dirt bike down the staircase in the middle of the party was a bad idea. At least, that’s what your doctor says as he prods your mangled forearm. But how else were you going to impress Stephanie? By talking about her interests and shit? I think not. Chicks dig dirt bikes. You totally would’ve had her, too, if people didn’t spill their beers on the steps. And don’t worry about Stephanie. She’s in the room next door and the nurse said she has only minimal facial scarring. She definitely still wants you.
While he may disagree with the dirt bike decision, doc will be hard pressed to tell you that smoking a fuck ton of weed on the road to recovery is a bad idea. Science recently discovered that a chemical in ganja not only speeds up the healing process, but makes the bone less likely to break in the future.
Researchers discovered that cannabidiol (CBD) worked wonders for rats with broken limbs. When rats with mid-femoral fractures were given CBD, the healing process was “markedly enhanced” within just eight weeks, according to the Israeli researchers, whose work is published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research.
And the treatment did more than just mend bones: The compound made bones stronger during healing (scientifically, CBD enhanced “the maturation of the collagenous matrix, which provides the basis for new mineralization of bone tissue”). That means the limb “will be harder to break in the future,” the researchers say in a press release.
