Kendall Jones is a 19-year-old Texas Tech student who enjoys cheerleading, candlelit dinners, manis/pedis, walks on the beach, and slaying enormous African game with her bare hands. Just playing, she legally hunts them with bows and rifles. She’s also cute as a button, making the juxtaposition of her posing next to these dead behemoths all the more interesting.

Photos she has posted to her Facebook account have brought out the internet pitchforks. In the photos, Jones is posing with African game she has killed–elephants, lions, leopards, zebras, hippos, and more. She’s got quite the collection. Naturally, people are pissed.

An online petition was created for the attention of The Zuck to have the photos removed. From the petition:

For the sake of all animals, especially the animals in the African region… where hunters are going for fun just to kill an animal! Some people have been reporting the pages lately but it seems Facebook is not concerned about what Kendall Jones is promoting in her page.

On her Facebook account, Kendall talks about her reasoning for hunting lions.

From Daily Mail:

‘Controlling the male lion population is important within large fenced areas like these,’ Jones writes. ‘Funds from a hunt like this goes partially to the government for permits but also to the farm owner as an incentive to keep and raise lions on their property.’

However, she doesn’t explain why she kills all the animals seen in her photos.

‘The first animal I ever shot was a White Rhino with a .416 Remington!!’ the teen writes on her Facebook page.

It should be noted that white rhinos are the only rhino species that are not endangered, totaling about 20,000.

I have always been a proponent of “you kill it, you grill it” hunting. Hunting purely for sport just seems kind of fucked up to me. Yes, extenuating circumstances can exist–population control, for example. When Simba taught us about the circle of life, he didn’t say shit about picking up Facebook likes or decorating your home with animal carcasses. I just don’t know, man. I dove hunt, but I eat those little bastards.

Look at these big, beautiful beasts and tell me their deaths while immersed in their natural habitats is no biggie. You can’t. These are some awesome, awesome animals.

Having said all that, if I ever had the opportunity to pose atop the king of the fucking jungle, you bet your ass I’m all over it. It would become my profile picture for every account I owned from then to eternity.

Not a fan of this kind of hunting. Takes zero skill. Those animals will let you get incredibly close to them. Hell if you bring a jeep, they will lay in the shade of it. This gets absolutely zero respect. Hunting is suppose to be a skilled practiced where you stalk your prey and grill it later. This is just killing an animal that didn’t give a damn about your presence to look cool for Facebook and Instagram.
    That’s trying WAY too hard.

She tries to justify these hunts in the name of conservation. It costs around $40,000 for a license to kill a rhino. Now she either has to be incredibly nieve or a liar if she expects her money to be spent on conservation.

Most likely in the most corrupt region in the world, the money will go to line the pockets of some African bureaucrat. Sure maybe $5,000 will be spent on actual conservation, but only as a front to cover their asses while they embezzle tens of thousands of dollars. These nations are piss poor, conservation is the least of their concerns.

You are a fucking liberal, while most hunting in Africa isn’t your traditional spot and stalk. There are some facts you need to straighten out before you bash African big game hunting. A lot of money goes to the preservation of these animals that the hunters pay out of pocket. Most of the meat that is harvested from these animals goes directly to the villages surrounding the hunt. So before your bleeding heart goes and tells PETA you should realize that hunting in Africa is very beneficial to the Africans and that it’s not all about getting a picture

You really think that someone who has seemingly gone on multiple safaris throughout numerous years, has obvious knowledge of the laws surrounding her hunts and has practical knowledge of how to use a bow or Remington .416 is doing it all just for Facebook and Instagram? Did the thought ever cross your mind that there are people out there who purely enjoy the sport?

^Killing exotic animals for fun is wrong.
Killing animals that lounge around and let you get close to them is unimpressive
Bragging on Facebook and counting your “likes” is pathetic.
This chick fucking sucks. Stop defending her.

People that truly care about the sport of hunting don’t need to go to Africa and kill rare animals and post pictures on the web to get attention. I don’t post pictures of every deer I shoot, and I don’t kill for fun. I field dress and eat everything I kill. She is a social media whore.

They’re not rare animals. Organized big game hunting in Africa is legal because it helps keep the natural habitats balanced and controlled in such a way that some of these species don’t become extinct. If all of you bleeding heart types are so concerned about this chick, why not pay even more attention to the poachers who are killing endangered animals for only their ivory, tusks, and skin, leaving the rest of the animal to decompose or become dinner to scavenger species?

First of all, fuck poachers. The reason why nobody is paying attention to them right now and commenting about them on here is because this article isn’t about poachers. I just got back from a May term class in Tanzania, Africa a month ago and we went on safaris almost every single day. These animals are the coolest things I have ever seen in the world. Most of these animals that were hunted don’t really concern me too much because of the sheer numbers of them that exist. But when I saw the picture of her with the leopard I fucking lost it. When we saw one of those on the safari our guide just about shit a brick because of how rare those things are and he does that shit every day for half of a year. Leopards are fucking awesome and I don’t know what would possess somebody to want to kill one. And fuck her for killing male lions. Every time the leader of a pride is killed, a new leader is selected, and all of the babies are killed simply because they were from the blood of the previous leader. The new leader bangs every female in the pride that he can in order to dominate the gene pool. Kind of like taking down the entire family line in the same sorority. TFM.

“rare” is literally in the description of the rhino. I do not need to be a bleeding heart animal rights activist to appreciate them and respect them. There is a difference between people like you who validate killing for “sport” by posting on Facebook so your friends think you are super cool, and the people that kill for sport as a way of life and don’t do it so people like their pictures and high five them. Also, I do have an issue with poaching, but that is something entirely different.

While a rhino might be rare her hunt was a “green” hunt. She tranquilized it and vets took blood samples and repaired the rhinos leg from an attack. Don’t worry it’s still alive.

The southern white rhino is literally the most common rhino in the world. The locals don’t always have the means to hunt big game…this chick is basically putting food on the table for many of these people. And her dad is paying thousands of dollars for her to do so. If she wants to get all dolled up and take pictures for her social media, then that’s her prerogative. You don’t have to like it, but if people think that nothing more comes from her hunts then they are simply uninformed and ignorant.

Sit down child, do you eat meat from the store, restaurant, ect… If so did YOU kill it, skin it, and divide the meat up? No? Then your hippy-geedish-liberal argument is invalid.

I hate all of you fucking liberals, I would put a ring on this woman’s finger. If you really think she doesn’t have a reason to kill these animals take a lap. I personally eat everything that I hunt or make sure that it is put to good use in some type of way. All these animals are eaten by local tribes if not even by herself. Even if her only reason is for the sport and the thrill, it is a good enough reason for me. In my life time I want to experience everything I possibly can and in an instant would jump on an opportunity of a lifetime like this woman has. Zero skill to kill an animals like these? You sir need to crawl up your mothers womb and never see the light of day. You have no idea what type of hunt she went on or what she may have had to go through to shoot this animal. These hunts would not fucking exist if they seriously endangered the species in Africa and didn’t actually benefit the local populations. TFM you seriously disappointed me on this article especially you Dorn.

Since when is something being legal in Africa justification? Last I checked people were “legally” being executed all over Africa for being Christian. I’m not against the killing of all of those animals just playing devils advocate.

Many of the big game hunts in Africa are sanctioned for population control to assure that certain species don’t overrun areas and negatively affect other species. The tags for these hunts usually cost in the 10’s of thousands of dollars of which a portion goes to the conservation to help protect the animals from poachers. I believe in eating what you kill, but there are other reasons to hunt.

An example of some of the prices from the “Big 5″ from the last safari I went on. Granted, I use the word ‘safari’ as a hunting safari, not a picture safari… Animals that live in picture safari ranches would be easy to hunt because they literally walk up to you. They have never been hunted in their lives. Hunting safaris are much larger, and the animals are much harder to hunt. These are 50,000 acre plus ranches. There is a lot of very difficult hunting to be had at a good safari.
      Elephant: $40,000
      Male Lion: $25,000
Cape Buffalo: $13,000-17,000 based on size.
      Leopard: $20,000
      White Rhino: $150,000

Most of these animals would not be alive if they didn’t have hunters willing to pay this kind of money contributing to the conservation efforts. Heck, some of these countries wouldn’t even exist without these game fees.

Not only is what she’s doing helpful for population control and entirely legal, the animal’s meat (bone, skin, fur, teeth, etc) is completely and efficiently used by the locals/landowners. She’s not just killing the animal, posing with it and then leaving it to decompose. I don’t see how some of you vaginas can complain about what she’s doing.

If i ever got the opportunity to go on one of these hunts sanctioned for population control I definitely would like to take that chance; however i do prefer to hunt animals that i am going to eat. For those who want her to take the photos down, fuck off, nobody is forcing you to look at her facebook page and taking photos off of facebook isn’t going to stop people from doing this kind of hunting, especially when it is justified in many cases.
On a side note, thoroughly impressed that she didn’t tear her arm off shooting the .416
