UCF AEPi Suspended For Allegedly Putting A Rifle To Blindfolded Pledge’s Head

The University of Central Florida Alpha Epsilon Pi chapter has been temporarily suspended while school officials look into an accusation that involves a brother putting a racked rifle to a blindfolded pledge’s head. The investigation stems from a month old anonymous email sent to campus PD that appears to have been written by a secondhand AEPi source that heard about the incident from other members.

From The Orlando Sentinel:

“One of the blindfolded pledges made a comment about it not being real,” he wrote. The member then placed the barrel up to the pledge’s head and asked him if he thought it was real, the email stated.

There’s just something about actually feeling that steel barrel to your dome that can’t be replicated. You put a nerf or airsoft gun to a man’s temple and you’re just not getting that same fear of God reaction you’re ideally looking for out of your pledge class. Try it. You’ll get laughed out of the room. And you certainly can’t have the new guys chirping your (alleged) hazing tactics not being legit enough or thinking the whole process is a joke.

But the real deal? That mystifying element of genuine danger? That’s the building block to every great fraternity. Guess what punk isn’t running his mouth at the next pledge ritual activity. Exactly. Problem solved. I mean he’ll probably run as far away from your organization as humanly possible unless he’s a true G, but I’d still chalk it up as a win. Addition by subtraction. After all, this could be street cred that launches UCF AEPi to the next level.
