I think we all have that one professor who is a little bit off (maybe that’s an understatement). He leaves us all to wonder how in the world he actually functions with people outside of a classroom. A professor from Georgia seems to fit that description perfectly.

According to reports, UGA psychology professor Charles Lance recently discovered one of his female students was traveling to Mexico for spring break. I’m assuming Mexico must be a hotbed for the illegal trade of the prescription Bupropion, because he fervently requested, in front of his entire class, that she bring him back a bottle of the pills. After the class, Lance asked once again for her to get him the drug, going so far as to show her the pill bottle and telling her how to get it.

Lance even described that drug to her, calling it the “happy, horny, get skinny drug.”

Unfortunately for the nutty professor, the student went to University of Georgia administrators and reported the incident immediately. University police received a warrant to search the professor’s home, leading them to discover other prescription pills, which were not in their original bottles.

While the professor has not been booked into jail, he is on leave without pay pending the investigation. He is also being charged with three counts of possession of prescription drugs not in proper containers and one count of attempt to obtain dangerous drugs through fraudulent means.

If history is any precedent, I’d imagine that this might mark the end of the road for the professor. Requesting illegal drugs from students during class never seems to sit well with university administrators. It was worth a shot, I guess.
