Nice Move

The US Air Force has been turning ISIS-affiliated terrorists into burning pieces of flesh for a little over a year now. We’ve had some success, we’ve had some allies join us, and all-in-all there aren’t many complaints. We may be reaching a problem soon, though. A problem that I never thought I’d hear come out of the mouth of an American military official: We’re running out of bombs. Now, it isn’t as if we’ll be running out of explosive shit to drop on their brainless craniums next week, but at the pace we’re on, it’s an issue that could be faced in the very near future.

From USA Today:

The Air Force has fired more than 20,000 missiles and bombs in the air war against the Islamic State, depleting its stocks of munitions and prompting the service to scour depots around the world for more weapons and to find money to buy them, according to records obtained by USA TODAY.

Twenty-thousand bombs dropped on ISIS. My little patriot is working his way to a full salute right now. That is such an absurd number. It’s something I love to hear as a lover of America and a hater of terroristic assholes, but those 20,000 bombs are exactly why we’re beginning to face the predicament of keeping up with demand without burning through our entire inventory.

“We’re in the business of killing terrorists and business is good,” Air Force Secretary Deborah Lee James said in statement. “We need to replenish our munitions stock. Weapons take years to produce from the day the contract is assigned until they roll off the production line.”

We’re in the terrorist killing business and business is a booming. There’s a large market and targets are plentiful. In the year since we started incinerating those fuckheads, we’ve wiped out an estimated 23,000 fighters according to Army Gen. Lloyd Austin. I’m not good at math, but if my calculations are somewhat accurate, that’s 1.15 terrorists ended for every bomb we’ve dropped. Not a bad ratio.

Help is on the way, though, as congress approved the spending of $400 million to purchase 4,000 additional Hellfire missiles. So don’t worry, terrorists, it looks like our pilots aren’t going to stop visiting any time soon.
