Much has been made of the horrific conditions at Rio for the Summer Olympics.
While Olympic Village resembles something out of Slumdog Millionaire, the Men’s and Women’s USA Basketball teams found a way to continue their lavish lifestyles.
According to For The Win, both teams will be spending the duration of their stay in Rio aboard the massive and luxurious Silversea Silver Cloud ship.
The Silver Cloud is a 296-guest cruise that weighs over 16,000 tons. It includes a pool deck, panoramic lounge areas, fitness center and luxurious guest suites.

I love this move. It screams America so much that is hurts. If I was them I would step it up a notch and paint the damn thing red, white and blue to really make America’s presence felt upon arrival.
Remember when players were dropping out by the minute due to the fear of the living conditions in Rio? Well, I bet Coach K’s phone has been ringing off the hook with players begging to make the trip once the news of this ship broke. Talk about missing out on the party of the summer.
There is basically Olympic coverage around the clock. I cannot begin to describe how little I care about 90% of the events that take place during the Olympics. Give the people what they want and put cameras all around this yacht. This is a goldmine of a reality TV opportunity. Sex, drugs, and USA Basketball domination — that’s where the action will be in Rio.
If you think about it, this is basically your typical date in a millionaire nutshell. The men are clearly paying the bill for this mega yacht and the hope/plan is to get some easy action out of this with the women sharing these luxurious confines. Otherwise, they can go join the Australian teams in assembling their own shower curtains and sleeping on the floor back in Olympic Village.
Team USA is sending a message to the rest of the world that they have more money than you, more gold medals than you, and most certainly have nicer housing accommodations than you..
