I Absolutely Love the MLB Pitch Clock

I have heard much speculation and hatred so far this season about the new pitch clock in the MLB. If you’re unaware, the MLB added in a 15 second clock for pitchers to get the ball off, and 20 seconds once somebody is on base. There has never previously been any sort of timer on pitchers in the MLB, and some people are still absolutely outraged. However, I am in love with it.

I saw a video a few weeks ago of this guy at an MLB game. He was complaining that with the pitch clock, MLB games are way too short now. In fact, he said that by the time he got up and came back with a hot dog, the game was over. Now, I know he was exaggerating, at least I really hope so, but come on. Are people really complaining that an MLB game isn’t 4 hours long anymore?

I never really enjoyed watching baseball until I started sports betting. Unless you’re at the game in person, or you have a disgusting amount of money on it, it’s honestly boring. And the worst part has always been how long and grueling the games are sometimes. I mean, I remember throwing baseball games on the TV at home. I wouldn’t really pay attention, I’d leave for a while, and then I’d come back later in absolute shock that the New York Mets were still on the TV. How the fuck are these guys still playing 4 hours later?

The only issue that I’ve witnessed so far with the pitch clock is the fact that it actually can affect the game. I mean, if a pitcher doesn’t get it off, the batter is given a ball, which can be huge in some situations. It’s also a brand-new thing, so we’re tending to see this happen a decent amount.

Still, I absolutely love the implementation of the pitch clock. Games are way quicker now, and I’m here for it. Pitchers will continue to adjust, and I’d say I’m pretty confident that the clock is here to stay. At least for a little while…Get used to it.
