From throwing chairs, going on profanity-laced rants after games, and bringing up the fact that he loves using a whip, Bobby Knight has always made for great TV. Since those days of coaching, he seems to have mellowed out as he calls college basketball games for ESPN, which is why it was great to see the old Bobby return while he was calling last night’s SMU-Temple game.
Moody can get a little rowdy, and fans will stand for most of the game and go crazy. Bobby had enough of trying to call the game while having his view blocked by some fans, so he decided to put them in their place.
“EITHER TAKE MY SEAT OR SIT DOWN!” Vintage Bobby. Luckily for the fans, he didn’t throw his seat at them. He spent more of the game yelling at fans to sit down than actually commenting on the game. Love it. When he did comment on the game, he might have admitted to shooting players if they committed a foul in the offensive end.
Now that’s just good coaching..
