Last Thursday, a joint U.S. Special Forces and Kurdish Special Forces operation was launched on an ISIS prison in northern Iraq in an attempt to free 70 hostages. The troops utilized U.S. guided airstrikes to take out the roads leading up to the prison — a tactic used to weaken the efforts of counter assault teams. The raid was caught on camera thanks to a helmet-cam.
The video is pretty chilling.
Those ISIS guys knew they were done as soon as they saw the kits on those soldiers. In the video, you can see that the troops remained cool and collected amongst the chaos.
The raid turned out to be successful. However, Sergeant Joshua Wheeler of Roland, Oklahoma was killed in action during the raid. Thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family..
