Earlier this week, University of Florida offensive line coach Tim Davis referred to Nick Saban as “the Devil himself.” Harsh words, and driving them home even more is the fact that he actually has some Nick Saban perspective. Davis worked under Saban for three years — two with the Miami Dolphins, one at Alabama.
“I’ve always wanted to work with Will,” Davis said at a booster club meeting Tuesday in Melbourne, Fla. “Will’s got a plan. Will coached under the devil himself for seven years. I only did three. He did seven. And his DNA is not any different than Nick.”
Wait, timeout, who is this guy?
Coach Saban responded, calling the remark “terribly disappointing.”
Let’s go ahead and get this out of the way right now. We’re all thinking it, so I’m just gonna say it: how short is the person holding this camera? Nick is what, 5’2″, maybe 5-flat on his best day? The lens of this camera is collarbone level with Saban.
It was either bring your kid to work day (and work the camera while Dad asks the questions), or Saban is standing on his desk.
