Watch The Mayor Of London Hit-Stick A 10-Year-Old Japanese Boy In A Friendly Game Of Rugby

Nice Move

I’m not familiar with his politics, but London mayor Boris Johnson is possibly my new favorite politician of all-time.

During a friendly game of rugby with small children in Japan, Johnson lowered his shoulder and flattened a small 10-year-old Japanese boy on his way to a…touchdown? Goal? Whatever. It’s awesome.

Johnson doesn’t give a shit if the “politically savvy” move would have been to let the boy tackle him. Hell no. That’s not going to teach him anything. This is rugby, damn it, and you’re going to need better form than that if you’re going to succeed in this sport, kid.

I don’t know what I love the most about Johnson. It’s a toss up between his Donald Trump hair, his xenophobic rugby playing style or his lack of political awareness at what looks like a charity event. I hope at some point in the “fun little game” Johnson stopped and complained that the “field is not regulation size.” Perhaps my favorite part of this play, after intense analysis, is that he tried to juke the kid out, but clearly couldn’t keep his balance and just fell on top of him.

How will this affect Great Britain’s relationship with Japan? Who knows. I would like to see more of this, though. Politicians playing sports is something I can get behind. Now, how can we get Rob Ford in on this action?
