It’s looking like the Washington State football team is going to be a feisty bunch this upcoming season. First, there was the incident earlier in the summer where a group of Wazzu football players started a massive brawl and broke someone’s jaw at a house party. Now, it appears one of their defensive leaders, senior safety Shalom Luani, has decided to get in on the action. Luani reportedly was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly punching some dude in the face after his Domino’s order took too long. Not surprisingly, alcohol was involved.
From Pullman Radio:
Pullman Police say 22 year old Shalom Luani became verbally abusive in the packed pizzeria because his order was taking too long. The manager reportedly told Luani that he could have his money back but he continued to act disorderly. Several people asked him to leave including a 20 year old WSU student who was allegedly struck by Luani. At that point the men went outside the Domino’s when Luani allegedly punched the man breaking his nose. … He was arrested and then released for felony second degree assault. Officers say alcohol was involved.
I love syllabus week.
I get it. You’re drunk and you want pizza. But Domino’s is a piss-poor reason to get arrested for felony assault. Now, if this was some dank ass local pizzeria where college students are their only clientele and they just load that shit with toppings on top of toppings and boss-ass cheese? Then I could see that worth getting arrested over. I assume, since he went to jail, that he did not get his pizza. A sad day.
Mike Leach has really got his hands full with this group. Wazzu players are doing their damnedest to be the Florida State of the North, and have several players suspended for their first game due to offseason issues. Personally, I like it. The state of Washington lost some spunk after Marshawn Lynch retired. Washington needs some flavor, and these guys are working their asses off to provide it. Keep up the good work..
