How One UNM Sigma Chi Spent Spring Break Doing Good Rather Than Partying

What did you do on spring break? Were you one of the beach-goers who spent the week blacked out from the Friday you got out of school until waking up the Monday morning that classes resumed? If you were, you were one of the millions who soaked up the sun, let loose, and took body shots off of willing coeds. There is nothing wrong with your choice in spring break destination.

However, one Sigma Chi from the University of New Mexico, Michael Pierce, decided to forgo the fun in the sun to help raise awareness for the homeless problem in America. He documented the whole thing during the week to show what it is like to lose everything and have to live on the streets. He started the week off with $20 in pocket and would then figure out how to get money and survive from there.

Good for Michael to sacrifice a week that most kids would never consider sacrificing. In a day when fraternities are lambasted for being misogynistic and racist rapists who do nothing but harm the community, it is refreshing to see stories like this come about.
