It blows my mind that they fenced off the WWII memorial. There are no on-site employees at the memorial so there’s really no point in fencing it off. These men saved the world for fucks sake. This was about the most disrespectful thing I have ever seen. Unbelievable.

Apparently there were protesters at the memorial grounds, saying “Boehner, get us back to work”. Also, I wouldn’t say it was an automatic outcome of the shut down. Someone, somewhere made the decision that this is one of the things to be shut down during a shutdown. I’ve heard it came from the White House Office of Management and Budget. Here is a video of the protesters who claim to be furloughed federal workers, but one guy is wearing a McDonalds shirt. http://pjmedia.com/tatler/2013/10/02/exclusive-video-mcdonalds-employee-admits-being-paid-15-to-protest-ww2-veterans/

That is fucking stupid. Being a Democrat doesn’t mean you hate the greatest generation in american history. It just means you don’t have the first idea how to run a government. It’s just been pissing me off all day that people are saying “Obama sent guards to stop these men”. It was an automatic outcome of the shut down. This is both the fault of congress and Obama, and they both have been fucking up since 2009.
