Louis Morris Murphy Jr. might not be the most well-known NFL wide receiver out there, but I’ll be damned if you can find one that goes harder in the paint than him. Murphy, a Florida Gators alum, was reportedly partying at a teammate’s wedding recently when he got so wasted that he woke up in a locked museum. Impressive, really.
From The Tampa Bay Times:
Murphy, 29, was not charged with any crime, but woke up early Saturday morning and found himself locked in the Flagler Museum, where former Gators teammate and Ravens receiver Deonte Thompson had his wedding the night before. According to a Palm Beach Police report, Murphy told police that he had been drinking, went to the museum’s courtyard and fell asleep on the stairs. ‘When he woke up, everyone was gone, and the doors were locked,’ the report states.
Murphy told police he ‘got nervous and broke the glass on one of the doors in order to unlock it,’ then called a friend, who called 911. Police arrived at 1:12 a.m., and then the museum’s facilities manager arrived and estimated the damage to the window at $1,000. The two parties agreed to ‘work out the repair costs amongst themselves,’ according to the report.
First off, having a wedding in a museum is pretty baller. The museum itself, the Flagler Museum, was first built in 1902 as a present from an oil tycoon to his third wife (thanks, Wikipedia). That, somehow, makes this even more baller.
I wanna know why the window had to die in this situation, though. Did he punch it for shits and giggles and then just call 911 on his cellphone? Did he call 911 from a payphone on the other side? What is this, 2006?!
Regardless, Murphy’s life seems like a damn fun time. This is the same dude that got arrested in 2011for having 11 Viagra pills on him.
Nothing beats when your college buds start getting married. It’s like you’re technically an adult with adult money but you’re also a child. A really drunk, intoxicated child that’s going to hit on the bridesmaids regardless of their attractiveness or marital status.
Murphy came out of this one with no arrest and a fantastic story to tell. That’s a wedding he’ll remember..
