Cop Brings Lube To Sentencing For Man Who Shot Him, Says “You Are Going To Need A Lot Of This”

In recent years, there has been a huge uptick in the scrutiny we place upon our men and women in blue. Some of it has been very warranted, while other times maybe not so much. But lost somewhere sandwiched between the negative stories of police brutality and bad judgment are accounts of everyday heroism. Those feel-good stories.

One of these accounts is that of an undercover Jacksonville police officer. In March of 2016, while taking his son to school, the officer noticed another car driving very erratically. Even though he was off-duty, he decided the right thing to do would be to pull them over. At this point, the other party opened fire on his car, shooting him three times. But this brave man wasn’t going down without a fight, he still managed to fire some return shots off until the suspect decided to flee. They were caught by police a short time later.

Now you may be asking how an officer getting shot in front of his son is a feel-good story. Don’t worry kids, it’s what happened at sentencing that made this story.

A young Jacksonville man who ambushed and shot a Jacksonville police officer multiple times during a traffic stop in 2016 was sentenced to life behind bars Wednesday.

Kevin Rojas was smug in court when the officer called Rojas a coward and said he would have a tough time in prison. The officer then took out a tube of K-Y Jelly, a personal lubricant, and said: “You are going to need a lot of this.”

Boom. Talk about sweet vindication. This should become a standard thing in courtrooms. Like the victim of every major crime should be able to do this. Just put a big bucket overhead of the defense table that gets dumped down at the pull of a lever. It’d be like the old days when Nickelodeon would slime people.

In court the officer, a former Army soldier, called Rojas a coward.

“I will take those bullets instead of a fellow officer and an innocent bystander,” the officer said. “When I brought the fight back to you, you ran like a coward.”

The world needs more badasses like this guy. Cheers to him.
