*****UPDATED: Looks like the story may be fake*****

Boxing’s golden boy, Floyd Mayweather Jr., apparently really likes the Denver Broncos to take home the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl XLVIII. When I say, “really likes,” I actually mean there’s not even a single solitary brain cell left in his future CTE-ridden brain that gives consideration to the notion that the Seahawks have a chance in the game.

Proving once again why he and his entourage are referred to as The Money Team, Mayweather has reportedly ponied up a cool $10,000,000 plus that says Peyton and co. are walking out of MetLife Stadium winners. To my knowledge, this is the largest sports bet that Floyd, a notorious gambler, has ever wagered.

The story comes from the Twitter account @IncarceratedBob, who’s bio describes him as “Breaking Sports News & Advising #Bettors – #Handicapper #NFL #NHL #NBA #MLB #IBN #FantasyFootball Beast! If they not hating u doing it wrong #Thinkonit.”

I don’t know if it can get more official than that.

To boot, Incarcerated Bob touts over 126K followers, including the likes of Adam Schefter, Bacon, and numerous other sports media journalists and athletes, so we’ve got to assume the information he’s wielding is the real deal.

Bob initially RT’d this:

Then he added some more information of his own:

In comparison, Money Mayweather’s previously notable wagers pale in comparison to the kind of dough he’s putting on the line here. Floyd is known to have placed winning bets on the Sugar Bowl and Rose Bowl this year, and a $5.9MM wager that he cashed in with when the Heat won in Game 7 against the Pacers in last year’s NBA Conference Finals.

Ironically, the second Twitter account in question above, @Pregame_Steam, was also the one that broke the news to the public ahead of the aforementioned Game 7 that saw Mayweather net some $6.49MM in winnings.

How does Floyd do it?

Oh. So that’s how the big shots launder their betting winnings? Good to know for future reference, I suppose.

Just laying out $13,000,000 amongst a ton of friends on Super Bowl Sunday and putting your faith in the Church of Manning. Must be an easy living being the highest paid athlete in the world.

Historically, Mayweather’s picks that have been made public usually turn out to be winners. With that taken into consideration, I’ll be following Money’s lead and taking on the Broncos against the spread all day long.
