Let’s be honest: You weren’t watching the Ohio Bobcats take on the UAB Blazers in the Bahamas Bowl this past Friday. Hell, Ohio wasn’t even watching the game and they won the damn thing. But while you were stocking up on whiskey and egg nog, a handful of fans made the trek to the Bahamas for the showdown — and the stories are nothing short of amazing. One Redditor described the experience as “amazing (and honestly, questionable).” Where do I sign up?
My god. I’ve seen 2A high school games run better than this shindig. Does it make it better or worse when I tell you that (apparently up until this year) it was a bowl sponsored by Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen? A bowl so shitty that even Popeyes pulled its sponsorship, and I’ve seen some ratchet Popeyes in my life. That’s some next-level shit.
Honestly, this sounds like the ultimate gameday experience if you don’t have a horse in the race. If you’re a fan of UAB or Ohio, you’d want some respect to be shown to your teams. But when you’re just a fan of getting hammered and watching dudes exchange CTE fighting for a pigskin, then this is the game for you. There are (apparently) no rules to follow and, for that, we salute you, Bahamas Bowl. Never change. Never ever change your ratchet ways, you dirty little bowl whore..
