“I don’t always drink beer, but when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.”

We have all heard the famous words countless times from the “Most Interesting Man In The World,” as he sits reserved in a lounge, surrounded by beautiful women. He spouts off remarkable anecdotes about his playboy exploits that have made him one of the most recognizable figures in the beer marketing world.

Some of the debonair fellow’s most impressive feats include:

He has inside jokes with complete strangers.
The police often question him just because they find him interesting.
His blood smells like cologne.
His mother has a tattoo that reads “son.”
He can speak Spanish in Russian.
His reputation is expanding faster than the universe.
He lives vicariously through himself.
He has never relied on mistletoe.
He is the reason those nine ladies are dancing.
He can identify UFOs.
The Aztec calendar has his Cinco de Mayo party chiseled on it.
He is the life of parties he has never attended.
Sharks have a week dedicated to him.
He once challenged his own reflection to a staring contest–on the fourth day he won.
At museums, he is allowed to touch the art.
He’s won trophies for his game face alone.

Quite an incredible list if I do say so myself, and we all know that it barely scratches the surface.

I’ve often thought the Dos Equis man was probably among the best acting gigs you could have in Hollywood, and I wondered how someone could be so lucky to have landed it. Seriously, his production days revolve around portraying adventures most of us only dream of as children. He drinks Dos Equis while surrounded by 10s, says the same 13-word phrase over and over again (he isn’t even the one narrating) and gets paid bank for it.

Could life be any better? I don’t think so. Obviously, I’ve considered what it would take to be “The Most Interesting Man In The World.” Let’s be honest, it seems like the perfect career path for me to aspire to after I turn the half-century mark some years down the road–the “silver fox” look runs in my family.

Thankfully, the guys over at Business Insider put together this great profile on 73-year-old Jonathan Goldsmith, the man who is lucky enough to portray “The Most Interesting Man In The World.” Goldsmith has more than 100 IMDb credits to his name, and the story of how he landed the Dos Equis role and where he drew inspiration for the character is extremely compelling. It’s definitely worth a watch.
