Peyton Manning, who recently accepted Trump’s invite for a golf outing, went on Jimmy Kimmel Live to talk about his experience playing with Mr. 45.
Simply put, when you’ve got a chance to hit the course with a president, you hit the course with the president, no matter who that man is. That’s Manning’s philosophy, and a damn good one at that. Hell, I’d golf with Bill Clinton in a heartbeat. “So Bill, where the hoes at tonight?” “Ha ha,” he’d say in his sweet southern accent. “I’m glad you asked because…” as he revealed to me the secret latitude and longitude where he was saving the hoes for later. Your secret is safe with me, Bill.
I’m curious as to what’s tougher: Completing a 30-yard touchdown pass as time expires to win a game or sinking a putt on the back nine after a disastrous tee shot. Sounds like Peyton and Don were scrambling at least. I’ve got good money that the “gimme” putts extended the length of the green for Team PeyDon. The man makes the rules and can drive where he damn well pleases.
I’m just let down Kimmel didn’t ask who Peyton and Trump were playing against. Was it Michael Jordan, Charles Barkley, Larry Bird and Bill Murray in a 2017 version of “Space Jam?” Or was it a Mexican family on the brink of deportation that had to win to stay in the States? Those are really the only two acceptable answers.
I’m hoping there are more Trump golf stories to come. Peyton was for sure holding back. Should be plenty more stories from the course to come in the next seven years..
