Sunday Scaries – Hangxiety

It’s around 6pm on a Sunday after a long weekend bender. You’ve just finished your $25 order of McDonalds and you and your roommates slowly migrate from the living room, into your own beds.

As you close the door and find yourself in solidarity, flashbacks of the weekend’s events filter in and out of your mind. It’s not until you’re truly alone that the depths of your blackout memory come back to haunt you.

When you’re with your friends in the light of the day, these flashbacks are nothing but laughs. The joke loses it’s punchline when you’re on your own time.

Hangxiety, a fairly new term, is the best way to describe this feeling. The pitt that grows in your stomach when you’re experiencing hangxiety is indescribable. You forget things that you did the night before and when you DO remember them, they get cringier and cringier as the memories slowly come back.

There ARE a few ways I like to cope with this phenomenon:

  1. Stay surrounded by your friends. The longer you talk to your friends about what the night entailed the better you’ll feel. It’s always better yo talk it out with someone than to deal with it alone.
  2. Indulge with Sunday Scaries. Sunday Scaries is a company centered around hemp and helping you ease out of this specific situation. As they say, “Replace “FML” with our broad spectrum Hemp and get your chill on 20 minutes later.”
  3. Keep Drinking? This is a personal thing I choose to do and, quite frankly I’m realizing in this moment that it is just terrible advice…
