Swedish police officer Mikaela Kellner was just enjoying a day off by tanning at the park, when a pickpocket happened to cross her path. This guy was pretending to sell a group of people magazines, and as he left, one of the people complained that their phone was missing. Kellner knew something was wrong, and she, along with a friend, took off toward the man and tackled him to the ground. Oh, and she did all this in a bikini.
She and a friend, who is also a police officer, sprang into action, chasing the man for up to 50ft before tackling and pinning him to the ground.
“I just acted on instinct and didn’t think about it so much until after we had pinned him down” she told The Local. “When I sat there I looked over at our other two friends who are not police officers and realized that it probably looked pretty funny. But I would have stepped in no matter my outfit.”
The lesson here is not to mess with off-duty police officers, especially if you can’t outrun someone who doesn’t have any shoes on. Who knows, maybe this guy wanted her to tackle him so that he could strike up a conversation. I can’t say with any confidence that most of us are above that sort of behavior.
Speaking of which, we found her Instagram:
That’s her catching the perp.
