This game is a fan’s dream and a social media manager’s worst nightmare. Some poor kid working at Bleacher Report will have to spend his entire Thursday night making emoji love to Patrick Mahomes no-look passes and Justin Herbert needle threads. These offenses have more firepower than a movie directed by Quinten Tarantino and Kyle Rittenhouse, and if week one was indicative of anything, their defenses are pretty good too. The Chargers are coming off a game in which the final score didn’t accurately reflect how much LA dominated the Raiders. Justin Herbert still throws a spiral that’s sexier than Salma Hayek in her prime. He looked sharp all game, connecting with nine receivers en route to 279 yards and three touchdowns. Even more impressive was the fact that the Chargers’ defense put Derek Carr under more pressure than a father of five during the 2008 recession. Newly acquired Khalil Mack made his presence felt immediately, with three of the Raiders’ six sacks.

Leaving week one, one could say to himself, damn, the Chargers can beat anyone…until he remembers the Chiefs. The Chiefs, much like a girl who deletes all the pictures of her ex off of her Instagram, looked fantastic on Sunday without Tyreek Hill. Patrick Mahomes has a receiving core so good that they could catch an STD from a Jehovah’s Witness, and he certainly isn’t afraid to spread the ball around. The Kermit-voiced-MVP was unstoppable in week one, completing 76.9% of his passes for 360 yards and five TDs for a 144.2 passer rating. The Chiefs’ defense invaded the Cardinals’ offensive line like they were storming the beaches of Normandy. The secondary was debatably more impressive, holding SEPTEMBER Kyler Murray to under 200 passing yards. Vegas likes the Chiefs by -3.5, and I think they win by a touchdown or more. No disrespect to this Chargers team. They are like the attractive woman at your office, but the Chiefs? The Chiefs are the supermodel of the NFL. The only thing Andy Reid likes more than the remnants of a pulled pork sandwich between his teeth is winning. Take the Chiefs to win, cover, and be sure to get your free $200 from BetMGM when a TD is scored!
