CHECOOOOO. What a race Azerbaijan was huh? I don’t know what juice they’ve been putting in the Aston Martin cars that have Lance Stroll reaching P7. And I’m glad that there’s a chance for Ferrari to potentially gain relevancy again. But let’s not get our hopes up. For this upcoming race in Miami there are a few things to consider. Max Verstappen is the best racer in the world right now. However, Checo has been no less than dominant on the street circuits, and guess what the Miami race is? If I had to bet my life on the podium I’d say give me Red Bull Racing in both P1 and P2 and have Alonso ride the tears of all the other hearts Taylor Swift has broken into P3. (I also wouldn’t put it past a Mercedes or Ferrari to sneak in somewhere on that podium though).

Why do I think Sergio Perez is a better person than Max Verstappen? Wait that’s not what this is about, is it. Oh, I’m supposed to be writing about potential race winners. Well, let’s just say that this year Sergio Perez has ‘owned these streets’. He has been P1 in both of the street circuits so far this season, which also means that he’s won 50% of all races this season. Not too shabby for the Mexican Minister of Defense. I also would like to point out that this man will have the power of Mexico on his side considering that this race will take place only three days after Cinco de Mayo.

I would also be remiss not to talk about the best racer on the grid statistically right now; Max Verstappen. He has also won 50% of the races, he just has to make sure he’s not racing in a street circuit before he decides to win. Wow, it’s almost like Red Bull has far and away the best car on the grid this season. But there isn’t much more to say with this prediction here. It’s an oldie but a goodie. Max is slowly sliding into a Lewis Hamilton role in the grid where if you want to bet on something bet on death, taxes, and Max Verstappen getting a podium. (or just outright winning).

For my third podium member and potential race winner projection give me the next Taylor Swift heartbreak album topic: Fernando Alonso. Dare I say this man ages even better than fine wine? At 42 he is consistently getting an Aston Martin car on podiums, a feat that few and far between have been able to accomplish. I won’t lie this is a bit of a shot in the dark, but the man has been on fire and angrier than ever.

Who knows what will happen in what is sure to be one of the more exciting race weekends this season? The only true lock is both Red Bulls will be on that podium, Ferrari will make a tactical error, and Alonso will be screaming at someone.
