You happen to latch on as a graduate assistant at South Carolina for new coach Shane Beamer and get to work… then, all of the sudden, you are needed to fill in for a thin roster at practice.

This dude was wearing No. 25 at practice and it all seemed like a goof… until it wasn’t.
Noland’s promotion comes after previous starter Luke Doty suffered a sprained foot during a recent practice. Beamer made clear the intention is to let Doty heal fully before re-inserting him into the lineup.
But it also means Norland is running onto the field against Eastern Illinois as the Gamecocks starting quarterback.
“If I do get the opportunity to start on Saturday, September 4,” Noland told The Charlotte Observer last week. “I’m going to be excited and go have fun and, and just enjoy it.”
