So, there are enough Horny TikTok Trends that we write about them almost daily. This is our anti-horny story of the day.
Hooters waitresses are taking to TikTok to express their frustrations about the uniform. Apppppparently, the new black shorts are “more like underwear” and waitresses are simply not having it…
This has become big enough of a story that NBC NEWS picked it up, so did the NY Post, and the freaking Daily Mail … it is trending on GOOGLE searches… which means I picked it up.
So, let’s dig deeper.
Here is what they are telling the news organization:
“The girls with more meat on their bones, it kind of just rides right up,” an unnamed server said to the much more legitimate news site. “You have a wedgie all the time.”
It has gotten enough attention that I also was able to learn more about Hooters. Apparently there are two major operators of Hooters — Hooters of America and The Original Hooters group. And apparently not all Hooters locations are updating the uniforms.
Here is the first statement:
“The ‘Original’ Hooters Restaurants located throughout Tampa Bay, Chicagoland, and Manhattan … will not be changing their iconic uniform of orange shorts and white uniform tops that has made the brand universally famous,” the spokesperson said in an email statement to NBC News.
“Hooters of America said it appreciates feedback “both positive and negative, regarding a more accommodating and inclusive image policy on tattoos, jewelry, nails, hairstyles as well as new uniforms — to include new top styles, shorts and the addition of socks.”
ANNNNND to give fair coverage to the other:
“The new uniforms were the result of a collaboration with Hooters Girls,” Hooters of America said in its email statement. “These uniforms have been worn for months in several Texas markets and have received overwhelmingly favorable reviews from both Hooters Girls and customers.”
Now, here is where I stand on this: You work at Hooters. A skimpy uniform that shows off your ‘hooters’ as well as being a little low-rise on that booty scoop was what you walked in the door and filled out and application for.
I am (honestly) not sure what the complaint here is… or the proposed solution?
If you do not like the uniform, there is more than one establishment in your area that you can wear something else. It is not like Hooters has hid what it is, how it operates, or what it expects from its personnel.
Also… who is still going to Hooters? I am shocked to learn they are still an operating franchise.
