Let me tell ya, Jim Carey was onto something with his classic film “Yes Man” back in 2008. Life is not only short, but it’s what you make of it. In the movie, Jim’s character lives a dull and boring life, until he vows to start saying yes when presented with an opportunity. Which inevitably brings him more experiences and a life worth living.

Now I know it’s “just a movie” and it’s “unrealistic” but I have taken it upon myself to start saying “yes” a whole lot more…and life’s never been better.

Last Friday, I was hungover in New York and was invited to go to Rolling Loud in Miami. Most people weigh the pros and cons of the situation but my friend and I said “fuck it, why not.”

Was there a light at the end of my hangover tunnel at the time? No.

Could I afford the flights? No.

Would I regret not going? Yes.

So we did.

…and let me tell you show you, I had the time of my life:

Besides the crowd being in a constant post pandemic zombie state:

And DaBaby saying some outlandish shit:

Other than that, it was one for the books.

Now, I know not everyone can just up and leave like this (I financially should not have) BUT I’d rather deal with my maxed out credit card later than sit on a “what if” forever. This is the youngest we’ll ever be. There’s not enough time in our adolescence to live with what if’s. I say, live in the now.

So, the next time someone asks you to do something that might be out of your comfort zone…I challenge you to say yes, without any hesitation.

We’re here for a good time, not a long time.
