UGA Student Leads Police On A High-Speed Chase While Snapchatting The Entire Thing

police chase

For the most part, I’m a law-abiding citizen. Other than a minor incident here and there, I pride myself on walking a path of righteousness and goodwill. However, I can’t look away when other people commit serious crimes. It’s just really entertaining to watch. When I came across the news of a kid at UGA Snapchatting a police chase, I just had to investigate. Sadly, the whole story left me disappointed.

From WSB-TV 2 Atlanta:

A University of Georgia student was arrested early Thursday morning after a high-speed chase in Athens.

According to police, the suspect reached speeds of 85 to 90 mph during the chase before he was eventually taken into custody.

Police bodycam video obtained by Channel 2 Action News shows several officers taking the suspect – 19-year-old Hunter Ty Wilkerson – into custody after the chase.

Go ahead and follow the link to the bodycam footage if you wish, but it’s nothing you haven’t seen on a decent episode of Cops. It appears that any Snapchat footage of the incident is long gone by now, so we’ll probably never get to see the chase from the perpetrator’s point of view. I did as much digging as I could, but my findings did nothing more than make me hate this kid.

This chase had no tragic consequences, so I don’t feel bad at all about mentioning Hunter Ty Wilkerson by name and talking about what a loser he must be. Not only was he driving dangerously while trying to get views on his story, but he also happened to be intoxicated. Whether his goal was to get attention, disrespect authority, or both, there are definitely far better and less life-threatening ways to do so. One more disgusting detail worth mentioning: While being shoved into the back of a squad car, Wilkerson asked the officer to see the damage he’d caused.

When you’re driving in your hometown this Thanksgiving, be thankful that this ass clown won’t be sharing the same roads with everyone else.
