Leonard Fournette is known for being dynamic on the football field, but it looks like he may have taken his explosiveness a bit too far as his car caught flames this morning while driving.
The NFL running back was driving early this morning on a highway when suddenly his engine combusted and caught fire. Luckily, Fournette was able to escape the vehicle before it burst totally up in flames and thankfully is unharmed.
In a video posted to Instagram this Tuesday morning, Fournette showed off his melted car and wrote “Man it was one of those days today, but I would like thank God, my car caught on fire while I was driving, But I’am still blessed.”
As seen in the clip, the entire front of Fournette’s car is no longer existent. By the looks of it, the problem seems to have been with the engine as the back of the vehicle seems mostly unharmed. There is no official cause or location of the eruption yet, but from the video alone Tampa residents were able to pinpoint Fournette on highway I-275.
Fournette was recently released from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after last season and remains a free agent. Although he claims for the decision to be mutual and even said that Tom Brady’s departure was a reason for leaving, the once-star running back has not been picked up by a new team for this upcoming season. From the looks of this scary accident, maybe Fournette has a lawsuit on his hands which could help make up some salary while he waits on his couch.
