Aaron Rodgers
Reports from ESPN and NFL Network came out today that Packers’ quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, tested positive for COVID-19. Rodgers will not be starting in Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs, which is a disappointment for everyone who was looking forward to a Rodgers v. Mahomes showdown game.
Rodgers had previously claimed to be “immunized,” when asked about him getting the COVID-19 vaccine in August, which many assumed to mean vaccinated. He underwent an alternative procedure that the NFL does not recognize as vaccination. Because of that, he will be following the protocols of an unvaccinated player
Starting in Rodgers’ place will be Jordan Love. Love was drafted in the first round by the Packers in the 2020 NFL Draft out of Utah State, and this will be his first NFL start.
Michael Thomas
Michael Thomas missed the majority of last season, and reports came out today that he will not be playing for the remainder of 2021. Thomas had surgery on his ankle back in June to repair ligaments.
Before the season some reports said he could return as early as week five or six, but as the season progressed, his return date came later and later. Most people expected him to return around week eleven of the 2021 NFL season, but Thomas said today that he experienced another setback in his rehab. Because of that, he will be unable to play for the remainder of this season.
Not great news for anyone who drafted him in fantasy with hopes he’d play this year (my dumb ass).
