After a fantastic conclusion to last week’s tournament which resulted in Will Zalatoris getting his first PGA Tour win, the top 70 golfers make the trip over to Delaware to play the BMW Championship at Wilmington Country Club as the PGA postseason continues. Here’s what you need to know.
Opening lines have Rory McIlroy +1000 as the betting favorite, followed by Cantlay, Finau, Rahm, Thomas, and Scheffler all at +1400. In my opinion, the only player in this top five worth a sprinkle would be Rahm, but I have some better picks below.
For top-five finishes there are a couple of bets I think are worth a sprinkle. Sungjae Im has been playing good golf, and Wilmington is a course that I believe will play well to his strengths. I also think Scottie Scheffler top five at 7/2 has some value, as well as Will Zalatoris at 16/5. Will has been playing some unreal golf, and I think Scottie will have a major bounce back after last weekend.
Lastly, we have a moonshot bet that could make the tourney a little more fun with a big payout potential. Joaquin Niemann has been consistently posting low scores in the first round both this year and last. The odds for him to be leading after the first round is +3500 which is absolutely worth looking into.
