The Lions are the best two-loss team in the NFL. Also, they like covering against spreads almost as much as Andy Reid likes putting barbecue sauce on a dead pig. Even with D’Andre Swift and safety Tracy Walker out, Detroit is a force to be reckoned with. They set an NFL record last week with a touchdown in eleven straight quarters. Detroit is currently third in the league in yards per game, second in red-zone efficiency, and first in yards per rushing attempt. Jared Goff has looked like the best version of himself behind an offensive line that protects him like a single woman in her forties protects her cat, and his numbers haven’t looked this good since 2018…I wonder what happened that year. Amon-Ra St. Brown, who will most likely return from his ankle injury, has been the none-God – as in none of the players on the field can guard him. St. Brown has 253 yards on twenty-three receptions, as he’s been the catalyst behind this Big-12 offense. On defense, the Lions have not been good, but luckily, Seattle has been worse.
As a unit, the Seahawks have scored forty-seven points on the season, just under half of the Lions’ ninety-five points. The Lions are like a hot girl who gets away with being a bad driver because they would pay to see her..nevermind…point being, the Lions may have a pretty lousy defense, but because their offense is so dominant, they stay in ballgames. That’s not the case for Seattle. Geno Smith has been okay and nothing more. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett have been their usual selves, but the offense has yet to really challenge opponents down the field much, meaning the skills of this duo haven’t been brought to light. And Seattle has established the run about as effectively as America established democracy in the middle east. On offense, the Seahawks are struggling late in games and have only scored ten points in the second half of all three games combined. Things aren’t great for the Seahawks right now, and I imagine a fair amount of people in that front office are Sleepless in Seattle because they probably won’t be employed much longer. Vegas likes the Lions -4.5, and they will cover that and some. Take the Lions’ Moneyline and get your free $200 from DraftKings!
